Diplomacy is Not an Option

You were born a feudal lord. Sounds good right? But hunts, executions, and tournaments bore you. Even from parties with pretty girls. The only dream left - your castle surrounded by hordes of enemies. You will not waste time negotiating. This is your chance to show them who is calling the shots.

Step into the frayed shoes of our hero: a long-lived underage gentleman, forced by circumstances to face far superior enemy forces. Boxed up by a quarrelsome king, ambiguous advisers, and enemies on all sides, there is no way to resolve it peacefully. It seems diplomacy is not an option!
Experience warfare on a whole new scale as over 10,000 enemy units attack your castle walls. Do you have what it takes to save the kingdom? Is it worth saving the kingdom? The law of war
Your king is a powerful and bold leader. The one thing he likes best about drinking is fighting, and he’s done a lot. While they waged wars and foreign conquests, the land in the house was neglected; infrastructure is crumbling and people are slowly starving. The ground is fertile for the seeds of rebellion! Deceived by shoddy advisers, the king cares nothing about the political bureaucracy, so if the masses revolt, there is little warning or help to be found. You alone must take the helm of the battle and defend your land from the murderous peasants. But victory is unlikely to bring you relief, as you are the only one who has demonstrated the ability to protect the kingdom. You must crush rebellions, track down leaders and restore stability.
There are rumors of huge treasures in distant lands, just what the king needs to feed the people and finance more beer and war. Will you do as your ruler commands and set sail to replenish the palace treasure? Indigenous peoples will certainly not resist your theft. What could go wrong?
physical laws
Diplomacy Is Not An Option takes the laws of physics very seriously: no hit-scan crossbows here! Your archers and siege engines need clear trajectories to hit their targets, so proper placement of your turrets and defenses is vital. Thousands of enemy soldiers will advance towards your walls and the archers positioned behind them will have to keep firing; Greatly reduces range and accuracy. Providing your units with elevated firing positions will greatly increase their effectiveness. Similarly, a ballista or boulder thrown from a catapult is useless if it crashes into a cliff in midair. Look at your gates, your lines of advance and retreat. Create kill zones and retreat positions. You must take an active role in combat to bring out the best in your men.
The laws of a functioning society
The world of diplomacy is not an option is not friendly. Food may run out and your soldiers may starve on the battlefield. Homes should be protected, illnesses managed, and bodies removed and buried with respect. If you don’t look after your people, you could soon be overwhelmed by a nastiest scourge, or with ramparts guarded only by the dwindling bones of your malnourished soldiers.
economic laws
A functioning army needs a functioning economy to support and sustain it. Food, wood, stone, iron, and gold are the foundation of your city’s economy, and you must keep a close eye on your supplies if you want to meet the advancing enemy in time. Gather resources, choose your storage locations, carefully plan your expansions and upgrades. The enemy will not voluntarily abandon their lands and unprotected civilian expansions will fall victim to enemy incursion. Trading with the mighty Merchant Airship provides a lifeline to beleaguered towns, delivering emergency supplies to feed men or stones to rebuild walls. That might be enough to tip the scales. Can you find the balance between greedy expansion and security? Between builders and pawns and fighters?
The laws of magic
Incoherent and treacherous, most avoid the use of magic in the lands. Those who dare to tamper with the occult are viewed with suspicion and fear, and for good reason. There is a dark history of corrupt power agitating the dead and trapping rebellious souls. A worthy burial for your dead is not just a tradition, it is a necessity. On the lighter side, it can also be used to summon very large fireballs at your enemies. So have fun too. The basic laws of life
The game was developed with freedom as the core concept. Endless mode gives you full access to the tech tree and there are no restrictions on how you complete the challenges that procedurally generated maps provide. Hit walls early, build large armies from cannon fodder, or chase the macro game of greedy growth and expensive investments. It’s up to you to determine which style will bring you the most success. The campaign offers you combative and moral challenges: it’s a dark and unpleasant world. Few are worthy of his loyalty, and even fewer will trust him. Just like in real life, behind most problems lies stupidity and greed, but here it is too late to talk about it. You can’t solve it peacefully. At this point: diplomacy is not an option!
